Weekend Reflections: Blogs, Writing, Reflecting

February 4, 2012 2 comments

It has been quite a bit of time since I’ve updated this blog. I haven’t forgotten, but I’d be lying if I said it was from a lack of interesting things happening. I’ve been doing a lot of writing in other venues (classes, preparation for other blogs, etc) which has taken up a lot of my time. In addition, the spring semester has been kicking off, and I was attempting to make the most of my January term class (and relative amount of free time) by spending time with friends. Just Some Thoughts

The title up there may have tipped you off, but I do intend on writing a series of posts about Earthen Vessels, Matthew Lee Anderson’s recent book. In Praise of the Amateur (Part 3)

Before I begin this week’s post, I want to take a moment to direct you to an entirely different expression of the amateur. This month (all of July), I will be competing head-to-head with the founder of and my co-blogger at Push of Pikes, Nathan Bennett. Neither of us are photographers, nor are we even using state-of-the-art cameras (in fact, I am using my iPhone and Nathan is using his iPod Touch). Go check it out at Photo Fight. And vote!

On to the post, then. Read more…
