Rather than finding a way to convince myself that writing a poem for tomorrow will be the best way to fill my time–a task I was having trouble beginning let alone accomplishing–I decided that I would rather just write what came to mind without much aim or goal. The following is just a collection of things I’m currently working through and/or would like to write more about but may or may not ever actually have time or necessary drive to actually do so. Forgive any errors, ideologically or in spelling, as these are rather hastily written. This week was the first day of school. Really, for me, it was the first two days of school, since classes began on Wednesday and I don’t have any classes on Friday. The first two days were exhausting, mostly because I was also training the new students who are working at my position in the library. That meant sitting in on most of the shifts throughout both days, for about an hour. That translated to long days, and while I did not mind doing it (I really was glad to have the hours), I’m also rather glad it is over. Read more…

It is probably no secret that I am a player of video games. I don’t think there is any inherent dissonance between being a thinker, theologian and philosopher and being a gamer. Some may be quick to point out that much of the gaming community exists in a bubble filled with insults and poor social skills or that the average gamer may not be of the sort who sits down and reads Aristotle or some other book for fun. In fact, the stereotype of ‘the gamer’ is probably not the sort of person who would write poetry or over two hundred blog posts without focusing in on video games. Read more…
I had been a fan of Photo Fight long before I entered it myself. In fact, when I first found it, I can recall thinking “Wow, this is a really cool idea. It’s a shame I am not a photographer.” I had never spent time taking photos or considering how shots are laid out, except perhaps as an exercise in understanding someone else’s work. Read more…
