Poetry Thursday: Talking to Guys #1

This week, we have another post by Katelynn Camp, who has contributed once before. Her poem is a reflection of the idea that poems are all about intentional choices, and choices are sometimes limited. Even if those limitations are self-imposed, they are still very real. I found this piece interesting from a technical standpoint, and her note at the bottom is well worth reading. Enjoy. Christ Abide.

Poetry Thursday: GranDAD

For the first poem of the year, I have the privilege of introducing a new poet. I hope she will contribute in the future, but even if she only makes this contribution, it is quite a great submission. I found this poem to be particularly powerful, though I imagine that is as much a reflection of my personal experience as it is the power of the poem. This is one of the longer poems I’ve featured, but it feels (to me) that every word was necessary to make it what it is. I won’t build it up any more, but allow you to take it in as it is.
