Poetry Thursday: Wind

August 18, 2011 1 comment

This poem comes from my friend and now third-time poet, Karyn. The poem also happens to be inspired by one of my favorite books of all time. I won’t give that information away, since you can see it in the author’s note after the piece itself. Karyn always seems to provide thoughtful and interesting pieces, and with subject matter like this, I suspect this will live up to that hype in the eyes and minds of the readers. Christ Abide. Poetry Thursday: The Wife of Ponce de Leon

July 28, 2011 1 comment
Yet another poem by the talented Karyn Musch. She may tell you otherwise, but she’s got a poet somewhere in there, and that poet has shown her face at least twice now. Hopefully I can convince her to continue to cultivate this side of her writing, as I have found her poems to be valuable reads and worthwhile additions to this feature. I hope you all think as well of them as I do. Christ Abide.

Today’s poem comes from newcomer (to this feature, anyways) Karyn Musch. She’s an old friend from college, and while there are probably multiple funny stories I could tell, I’ll stick with the bizarre: at one point, I found it necessary to call her Jose. This went on for a few years, and I still call her that from time to time. All that to say, I am glad to have her submitting a piece for Poetry Thursday, and I hope you all enjoy it as well. Christ Abide. Read more…
