Poetry Thursday: A Portrait

After writing poems myself for the last couple of weeks, it is nice to have a break. And if I’m going to take a break from writing poetry, it is a great privilege that the result of that break is reading and sharing good poetry. This poem comes from a first time contributor to this site, and I hope that it will not be his last. J. David Charles was a fellow student with me at Biola University. While my interactions with him were fairly minimal, he earned my respect as an intellectual, as a poet, and as a man of God. It is an honor to post his poem, and I encourage you to check out his blog. While he and I do not always agree, he is a man whose thoughts deserve further contemplation.
