I am normally not a fan of structured poetry, being a big fan of free verse. I like the choices and intentionality of free verse, though I recognize goodness and beauty in other forms as well. While the form of this particular post is one that I do not normally find as appealing as others, the content far outweighs any predispositions against the style. This week’s Poetry Thursday comes from a very close friend of mine, as well as fellow blogger (and the man who got me on Twitter), Fernando Rojas. I’ve respected him as a writer from the first time I can remember reading anything he’d ever shown me, and it is a privilege to have him contributing to my blog. When I was considering starting a Poetry Thursday, he was the first person I contacted to see if he would be willing to contribute.
