Weekend Reflections: Exhaustion and Rogue Trader

This weekend, I mostly enjoyed being done with one of the longest weeks I’ve had in a long time. I had about twice as much reading as I normally will for my summer class, and could not spend the time at work reading that I intended to because I was training a new employee. To top it off, I still have not shifted my sleep schedule to accommodate my work schedule. This week should provide me with a better sleep schedule, work schedule, and reading schedule. Weekend Reflections: V for Vendetta, Conversations and Paper Topics

My weekend was essentially made up of what the title suggests. On Friday, one of my apartment-mates invited a ton of people over to watch V for Vendetta (since it was the 5th of November, which is a significant date in the movie). I had not seen the movie, and thought it was rather good. While the film brought up more questions than it answer, and at times seemed to contradict its own messages, it managed to be a more intelligent movie than most I’d seen in recent years. It asked me to think more about politics than science fiction, putting it in a different category than Inception or The Matrix. It felt a lot like 1984, which wasn’t a bad thing. Overall, a worthwhile view, though I likely won’t watch it again for awhile (perhaps next November).
