Poetry Thursday: Gait
Poetry Thursday strikes again. The other night my cousin-in-law recognized me by my walk, and felt the need to notify me of this fact. I thought it odd, and set about writing about it. That was last night, and it took me multiple hours to come up with something I was happy with. What you see now is not that work, but rather a separate project from the same source material, with a totally different direction. One way or the other, I’m actually happy with both. I hope you all enjoy it. Christ Abide.

Weekend Reflections: Mass Effect 2 (More, I Know)
I’ve written a few posts prior to this that have interacted with the story overall, and then with the particular moral issues of one mission (and using that as a place to properly discuss the moral issues on the whole), but I wanted to take a bit of time to talk about the final mission of Mass Effect 2. I’ve now finished the third game in the trilogy, but felt that this was still the next natural step for this blog series. Again, spoiler warnings.

Weekend Reflections: A Poem
Yeah, yeah. It isn’t Thursday. Oh well. It came to me, and so it gets posted. Go figure.
Weekend Reflections: Mass Effect 2 (Part 2)
Well, another week another game, it seems. I managed to finish Mass Effect 2, and I’ve just started into the third game. I’ll use this post to wrap up my thoughts on 2, at least for now, and we’ll see about jumping into the third installation at a later date. Read more…
Weekend Reflections: Mass Effect 2 (Part 1)
I’m really enjoying this ‘gaming’ spin I’ve taken on this blog as of late. I hope you all haven’t hated it, because it is a unique outlet for me, and I’m glad to have it. And so, I’m going to be tackling Mass Effect 2 in bursts until I complete the game. I’ve been sort of blitzing through it, so for now I’ll just be talking about it in a sort of “here’s what I feel so far about it,” though I may shore it up at the end with a bigger series about the morality of the series, or perhaps the story-telling techniques. To John Mark: An Open Letter of Thanks
Dear John Mark,
Somewhere approaching six years ago, I had my first interaction with you. It was a terrifying moment in my life. I didn’t have a clue who you were, except that you were interviewing me for admittance into the Torrey Honors Institute. You introduced yourself, but I was not aware of your position in the program. I won’t go into the details of the conversation, but I do remember backing myself into a corner, saying what I realize now were naive things, and you let me into the program, for some reason or another. Weekend Reflections: Mass Effect, Morality, and Game UI
I’ve been a bit sparse here, and I apologize. A lot of my life is built around reading and writing, so I’ve made less time for it in my recreational endeavors. I apologize. No promises for the future, but just know I haven’t forgotten.
Anyways, on to the topic at hand. Read more…
